Tennessee Online Knowledge Testing

Drivers seeking to obtain their driver's license who are required to take a written test can now take that test online. Note that you must comply with the Testing Rules listed here. Follow the instructions below to get started.

1 Verify Eligibility

In order to take an online test you must:

  • Have a parent or legal guardian with a valid Driver License administer the Knowledge test.
  • Have a computer, tablet or laptop to take the online Knowledge test.
  • Use the latest version of a recommended web browser, such as Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox.
2 Install Proctor ID

Parent or legal guardian must download the ProctorID app on their smart device.

3 Verify Identity

After parent or legal guardian registers as your Proctor, click the button below.

Scan the QR Code on the following page via ProctorID app to verify your identity and begin your auto knowledge test.

After installing and registering for your Proctor ID, scan the QR Code on the following page using your Proctor ID App on your mobile phone and follow the instructions to provide consent.
